GlobalSCAPE Continuous Data Protection

Get inexpensive real-time backup with GlobalSCAPE Continuous Data Protection (CDP). CDP captures all changes at the byte level as they occur, can backup multiple locations, and can restore data from any point in time. Bandwidth requirements are minimal since only file differences are transferred to the backup system or back to the primary server in the event of a restore.

Key Features

  • Switchover - If your primary file server malfunctions, simply switch to the backup server where changes are updated in real-time, or deploy CDP on a new server and the data is immediately available as it streams in.
  • Failback - Restore any changes made during the switchover period to the primary server when it returns on line.
  • Snapshots - Create copies of your data exactly as it was at a particular point in the past. Snapshots can be scheduled with no impact to file use.
  • History - Retrieve any files, current or past.
  • Flexible recovery - Restore data through a browser, from disk, or directly over the network.
  • Backup data to multiple locations - Mirror data to any number of sites. For example, your primary server in New York can be replicated in real time to a main backup site in Boston and a server in Tokyo at the same time.
  • Efficient use of bandwidth - Perform byte-level differencing and compression to eliminate most of the traffic from the source server to the backup location. That is, only the bytes of data that actually change are sent.
  • Works over HTTP - Easily configurable across firewalls, VPNs, or any Internet connection.
